Senior Software Engineer - DevOps

Job description

This is an exciting time at Superconductive. We are building a SaaS product that helps teams adopt Great Expectations, a shared, open standard for data quality. The product provides a hosted solution with easy configuration and improved collaboration. With Great Expectations, teams can efficiently profile data, create and monitor data quality tests, and build shared dashboarding and monitoring capabilities for their organization’s data quality.

You will be expected to:

  • Create, maintain and optimize our resources in Amazon Web Services (AWS), our Kubernetes infrastructure and deployments (mostly EKS), and our CI/CD resources and processes

  • Define and implement best-practices for managing Infrastructure as Code using tools including Git, Terraform, and Helm

  • Define and implement different Kubernetes-based deployment models for supporting customer needs

  • Enable and empower our software development pods with the access and tools they need to own their deployments without compromising the security and resiliency of the product

  • Mentor colleagues and teams in DevOps and infrastructure best practices; inform and support architectural decisions

  • Own initiatives within an Agile team around security, compliance, and specific deployment patterns, including story definition and breakdown

  • Collaborate with business, application development, and customer-facing services teams

  • Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats

  • Work as part of a growing, remote team that is passionate about building great software

As part of Superconductive, you will also have opportunities to support the community and evangelize Great Expectations through conference talks, workshops, and blog posts, if you’d like.

  • Fluent in scripting languages (Bash/Python) and file formats (yaml, json, etc.) in the context of templating and automation

  • Experience implementing and using monitoring, tracing, and alerting tools including PagerDuty, Prometheus and Grafana

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills; eager to dig in and see things through to a happy and sustainable outcome; defines follow-on work as necessary to ensure the integrity and efficiency of the system
