Product Marketer

Job description


With over 5,500 active slack community members, Great Expectations has grown to its leading role primarily through product excellence and the ease of availability that an open source product provides to its community. Now we're looking for our first product marketer to help clearly articulate the benefits of our new proprietary product, Great Expectations Cloud, in a way that resonates with technical and non-technical audiences. You will have a hand at shaping our early customer GTM motions as well as our marketing team!

What You'll Do

  • Build compelling messaging and positioning for Great Expectations Cloud and implement across all customer facing channels

  • Inform and influence Product Leadership on decisions related to product roadmap and pricing / packaging

  • Support product adoption goals in new and existing customers with effective customer success informed programs and initiatives

  • Establish launch strategies and metrics for new capabilities and execute across teams to drive execution

  • Scope and lead creation of impactful education assets mapped to buying journey

  • Conduct customer research to understand the pain points, needs, and workflows of our buyers and users

  • Assess where customers need additional support - whether information or product enhancements - in order to integrate Great Expectations Cloud into their workflows, then prioritize and implement new assets and work with Product Management to plan product enhancements

  • Enable GTM team to address customers’ operation requirements: clearly define the operational capabilities of our product and the value it provides, deliver internal training and enablement, ensure sales teams understand ops personas well enough to engage with customers and create customer-facing materials for sales to use

Job requirements

  • 3+ years of proven product marketing experience ideally related to data management or analytics

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail plus the ability to quickly adapt to changing requirements and opportunities

  • Demonstrated success as a member or leader of a product marketing team for a B2B company with experience creating messaging for data and developer personas

  • A technical curiosity but are a marketer at heart with a passion and talent for content creation, marketing, and communications

  • A strong background working with sales, solutions engineers, and technical product teams

  • Ability to succeed and embody a growth mindset in a deadline-oriented fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities

  • Strong product instincts and technical curiosity that translate to clear packaging, positioning, and messaging

  • The ability to clearly articulate the value of a product/service to customers, but also to sales teams in a way that enables them to communicate it to customers

  • Experience leading product or feature launches autonomously and contributing to larger launches with a team


Stand Out Attributes


  • Strong familiarity with Great Expectations: our product and our community

  • First hand experience working data engineering teams or marketing common cloud-based data warehouses and/or ETL tools
